Many dealers that sell RV campers will offer some type of financing. There may be a special rate the dealer can get because of having a higher volume of loans through a specific financial institution. You should take these loans into consideration when shopping for a finance company. You will, however, need to stay on the lookout for unexpected fees. These may include extended warranties or loan insurance. You do not have to include these and can say no to these extra fees. If the finance manager tries to push them on you, get up and walk out. This usually helps them realize you are not there to be taken advantage of. It is also possible that if you sell or trade in the RV camper before the loan is paid off, there may be penalties. Read the paperwork before you sign anything.
Another possibility is your personal bank or credit union. If you are an established customer, they may be able to give you lower interest rates when financing your RV camper. These types of loans do not normally have any type of early payoff penalties. They also do not require loan insurance. But, it will depend on the policies of your bank or credit union. Again, read the paperwork before signing.
Prices for RV campers have a very wide range. They can cost as little as $5,000 or less for a basic fold-up trailer. They can also cost $500,000 or more for a luxurious Class C motorhome. And, there are many RV campers that fall somewhere within this range. The cost of your RV will depend on many variables.
The size of your RV camper has a large impact on the price. They can range from 12 to 35 feet in length. The longer your RV camper is, the higher the price will be.
There are some manufacturers that build RV campers for the luxury market. These builders will use better grades of carpet, wood work, and other items in the campers. These RV campers will hold their value longer and depreciate slower. They will also be more durable and last much longer.
Some RV campers will have slideouts. These add additional living space to the camper. They will also add more construction costs and there will be added weight and electronics. The added electronics are needed for the mechanisms that are used to slide the extra room out from the main body of the RV camper. The more slideouts there are, the higher the price of the RV camper will be.
There are also many grades of appliances that can be built into the RV campers. Logically, the better the appliances, the higher the total price will be. You may decide you want the better appliances. But, if you will be doing a lot of cooking outdoors, you might not need the fancy stove or the higher price that comes with it.
Buying an RV is like buying a car. It pays to shop around. It also pays to know what you want before you go into the dealer. Or you might even purchase an RV camper from a factory. Where ever you choose to make your purchase, hopefully, these tips will help you make a good bargain that you can afford.
