Costa Rican Coffee

"Coffee is more than a morning beverage here at Three Generations, it is a way of life."

It is a well-known fact that some of the best coffee in the world comes from Costa Rica. "Cafe Tres Generaciones" is one such coffee.

On a recent trip to Costa Rica, I purchased several varieties of coffee to bring home. The first we tried was "Peaberry" AA Grade, which is a 100% pure Costa Rican product.

Our family is full of coffee lovers so the taste testing is a very intense experience. This Peaberry blend did not disappoint. It is rich in flavor with a robust taste that lingers on the palette in a wonderful manner. Thankfully this coffee does not have a bitter aftertaste as do so many other full-flavored imported coffees. It is also most fortunate that it is reasonably priced, so everyone can try it.

Cafe Tres Generaciones comes from the Doka Estate in Costa Rica. My pick was packaged in a 350 gram foil insulated bag to ensure freshness. It is beautifully labeled and states in bold letters: "It is a grano offering" , meaning "the whole bean".

Grinding the beans releases one of the most glorious aromas known to man-fresh ground coffee. The producer of this fine product includes a brief history of their estate on the package in both English and Spanish. According to the Doka Estate these coffee beans are grown at 4,500 feet above sea level in fertile soil near the Poas Volcano.

We really enjoy this coffee and so can you! To find out more information or to order you can go to www.dokaestate.com or write Beneficiadora Santa Enduviges, S.A. P.O. Box 129-4050, Alajuela, Costa Rica.
