This vineyard is a widely covered area that is directly in the sun, keeping soil with growing grapes fresh. Over half of all rose colored wines are made in France and in particular from Cotes de Provence. The rose colored wines are known for their dry and fruity tastes. They are most popular during the spring and summer seasons. There are some red wines and white wines that are also well known from the vineyards at Cotes de Provence.

Here are some of the top known wines that are produced in the Cotes de Provence vineyards:

Houchart Saint Victoire Rose - This $18.00 dollar bottle of rose wine gives off a wonderful aroma of cassis and a hint of red currant. The taste of the Houchart Saint Victoire leaves a lasting impression on your tongue with flavors of plum. This wine is on the lighter side and is most popular in the summer season.

Domaine de la Sauveuse Cuvee Philippine Rouge - This rose colored wine gives off a very fruity and acidic taste and is also very light and most popular in the warmer weather. This particular wine goes best with fish dishes, pasta and salads. You can purchase a bottle of Domaine de la Sauveuse Cuvee Philippine Rouge for around $19.00 dollars.

Chateu de Pourcieux Cotes de Provence Roase - The Chateu wine is known for its variety of grapes, being cinsault, syrah and tibouren. The rose wine is very fruity and dry. Once you pop the cork on this bottle, you will smell the aroma of grapefruit and other red fruits. Because this wine is so light and airy, it goes best with red sauces and salads. You can also pair this wine up with some cheeses, such as picodon and feta. You can find a bottle of the chateu for around $18.00 dollars.

Domaine Houchart Cotes de Provence Rose - This wine is also rose colored, and holds many different flavors such as, cherry, melon a mineral taste. You get a strong aroma of red berries and cherries. This wine is actually best for vegetarians because it pairs so perfectly with all different vegetables and salads. A bottle of the Domaine Houchart goes for a mere $10.00, and the fruity taste is worth every scent. If you're looking for a refreshing drink, this wine is the one to choose.

Domaines Ott - This almost white wine is so light an airy that it doesn't even taste as though there is any alcohol in it. This wine has an arrangement of different fruits that all compliment each other. The aromas that the wine gives off are a light fruity scent with a focus on raspberry. Domaines Ott goes best with a pasta dish, fish or salads. You can purchase a bottle of Domaines Ott for around $36.00 dollars.

When you're looking at a wine menu, and you can't decided between a red wine and a white wine, the easiest decision you can make, is to have both. Rose colored wines have the taste, texture and flavor combination of both red and white wines, that way you can have the best of both worlds.
