Could Hoolahan Hold the Key?

Norwich city football club slumped to a home defeat, but by the time the game had finished they may have found the best way to go forward. The game had one big silver lining, and that was the emergence of the real Wes Hoolahan. Hoolahan has not been at his best since signing, but finally he looked like the real deal on Tuesday night.

It appears Glenn Roeder may have finally found his ideal position. That is just behind the principal striker. It is a position that allows Wes to concentrate on attacking with limited defensive responsibilities. Given this kind of freedom Hoolahan could destroy defences week in week out in the championship. It seems obvious that playing one striker up front is the way forward after all, if it's good enough for Chelsea it is good enough for us.

After this latest setback it's easy to become despondent and make mass changes. However this team needs minor tweaking not completely rebuilding. Sometimes in life is the little changes that can make the biggest differences. I think most people would agree there were good football players at this football club it's all about blending them together. Great football teams play to their strengths and this is something Norwich must learn to do. It is no secret that the strongest area for Norwich is midfield so it makes sense to build the team around this area.

Norwich must put all their best players into the same team and the majority of those players are midfielders. Lee Croft, David Bell and Wes Hoolahan must all be in the team. Leroy Lita can play up front alone with no problem and as long as everyone buys into the system it can be very successful. Who knows what the future holds, but if Norwich can keep all their best attacking talent the future should be bright.
