Could Jenny Dry Erase HOPA Girl Inspire New Forms of Entertainment?

Could the Internet Turn in to One Big "Punk'd" Episode?

Meg G.
Jenny, the "Dry Erase Girl" aka "HOPA Girl" could create new forms of entertainment. Sounds kind of crazy, doesn't it? Well, I don't think the entire idea is far fetched. The viral success of the "Dry Erase Girl" prank shows that the public in general is always ready for a new prank or new controversy.

In fact, the same people who brought us "Jenny the Dry Erase Girl" also brought us the story of Donald Trump leaving a $10,000 tip on an $80 restaurant bill, and the story about an 18-year-old girl accidentally texting her dad about losing her virginity, according to CBS

Here are some people at play in the new form of entertainment.

Professional Prankster

TheChive.com posted an ad for an actress. This actress has become known to us as "Jenny the Dry Erase Girl." Considering all the hits and Facebook shares the hoax has garnered, we may very well see more pranksters pop up. Which brings us to...

Prank Subjects

If Ashton Kutcher played a role in Punked, people wouldn't get...well, punked. You have to have fresh faces to pull these stunts off. Aspiring actors and actresses could find at least minimum pay pulling off these types of pranks.

Bloggers

Bloggers blogging about the pranks make money too. The very site that I am publishing this article on pays for content. For every 1,000 people who view the article, the writer gets between $1.50 and $2.00. If you have a prank go viral, and your blog post goes viral along with it - you could make enough money to buy a pretty decent date night.

Of course, the purpose of entertainment is to keep our brains from turning to mush. Even having the possibility to fantasize about walking up to your boss and telling him what you think may be enough to inspire someone to change their life. At minimum, the prank gave us a good laugh and gave us something to speak with our co-workers and acquaintances with.

Did you find the whole "HOPA" girl scandal interesting, or do you find the whole thing to be rather overblown? Do you think we could see more and more of these sorts of pranks pop up in the future, or do you think that this was the last time the pranksters will pull a fast one on us?
