Could You Lose Your Internet Because You Download Music?

If you love your music and use the internet to download it, you better be sure that you are doing so legally. Sources say that major record labels are now working with ISPs to cut off your internet if they catch you downloading music illegally!

Information is still a bit sketchy but the basics of the deal are reminiscent of the 'three strikes, you're out' deal. If you are caught three times, the record label has your ISP pull the plug on your internet connection. It has been said that you may (or may not) receive warnings for your illegal downloads. ISP's will also have the power to create a slower internet experience for you if you have been caught once or twice. Third time... all lights go out.

There is a big debate over the legality of this practice. Can the record labels and ISP's really take away your internet without filing charges against you? You can believe everyone is taking their post to find out for sure. Similar laws and practices are currently taking place in other countries.

To be on the safe side, just make sure you are downloading music directly from the artist, original sources or from a reputation and legal source on the internet. Better safe than sorry, right?

The music companies and artists were stupid to make their music available on the net to begin with, now their greed has bit them in the azz. Not a lot of sympathy for them.

Great minds think alike, I wrote about the same thing mine is Riaa vs File Sharing. I think I wrote it in December when I first started seeing the news posts about it.
