Too pretty to fly? This sounds like a repeat of an song from the early 90's "I' too sexy". It's amazing that two young pretty girls are claiming discrimination because they are "too pretty". Do people really discriminate against people that are young and pretty?

Two 18 year old girls from Tampa Florida were flying on southwest airlines and they state they were unfairly treated because they were young and pretty. University of southern Florida student Nisreen Swedberg and her friend Sarah Williams claim they were discriminated against. According to Tampa Bays10 Nisreen Swedberg claims she asked the flight attendant for a bottle of water, and her request was ignored. Later Sarah Williams tried to go to the bathroom and it was occupied, and she said she knocked on the door when the man was still in there 15 minutes later. Williams and Swedberg claim that when the man came out of the bathroom he yelled an obscenity at Williams, she admits that she used one back. Williams and Swedberg don't understand why they were the only ones questioned. When the plane landed in Los Angeles Williams and Swedberg were escorted off the plane by FBI agents, but no charges were filed.

It is possible that Williams and Swedberg were discriminated against, but it seems more likely that they just didn't like being treated at a typical passenger. Flight Attendants deal with the public everyday, I don't think they could be so jealous of these girls that it caused discrimination. There are lots of different minority groups that are fighting actual discrimination. Now young pretty girls are going to claim they are being discriminated against. I feel that discrimination is a very serious issue, and should not be taken lightly. But I feel that claiming you were discriminated against because you are "too pretty" is pushing the limit. To me claiming discrimination because you are "too pretty", shows that you are probably too self absorbed.

Airlines have to deal with a lot of people everyday. They also have to make decisions, and tell people things that they are not going to like. I remember being at the airport when the airline choose to not let someone on the flight because they were too drunk. The already drunk man got even more irate. It was a scary situation for everyone around especially the employee that denied the flight. Another time when I was flying home from Hawaii with my husband, my sister, and my 7 year old niece, we had a problem. We were seated in the isle with the emergency exit, there is a rule that young children can not be seated in that row. We had to get off the plane while they figured out what to do since it was a full flight. They offered to let us fly in first class, then the flight attendant from first class saw us and she didn't want a young child in first class. During all this my niece started crying because she now thinks she is not going to be able to get home. The flight attendant actually moved another group to first class and placed us in their old seats. This was a very ridiculous situation, when we got home my sister and I wrote to the airline, and we were compensated a free flight because of this. It was nice to get the free flight, but all the hassle at the airport wasn't worth it.

I think people often expect that they should be treated better then other people, the think they are better then others and should be treated that way. I think claiming that you were discriminated against because you are too pretty is a ridiculous complaint in a world where we have so many problems bigger then this.
