This could work because people might not be so quick to spend money on albums that are mediocre if they are struggling financially. Therefore, the recession could actually help to get rid of the music artists that continue to make crappy songs with bad lyrics and it could bring in more music artists that enjoy making great music.

Concert sales could be affected by the recession because after a fan buys a great album there's a good chance they might become interested in seeing the music artist perform live.
