Countdown to ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas

Are you ready for Christmas? Beginning November 20 through November 30, 2011, ABC Family will begin showing movies they deem will get you in the holiday spirit in their "Countdown to the 25 Days of Christmas" daily movies. But what do you consider a "holiday movie?" Is it a movie that contains a holiday theme such as when magic dogs and elves team up to rescue Santa in "The Search for Santa Paws?" Do you consider a movie that was not released during the holiday season with no holiday theme such as WALL-E a holiday movie? For me, a "holiday movie" is not a movie whose release date was close to the holidays; a "holiday movie" should include holiday themes such as Santa Claus, Christmas trees, elves and family to name a few. Some of the movies listed in their countdown do not even have a release date close to the Christmas holiday season, so why are they on the list? Your guess is as good as mine. That being said, here are the movies that ABC Family believes will get you in the holiday spirit.

Holiday in Handcuffs
Release Date: December 9, 2007

When a desperate waitress loses her job and her boyfriend on Christmas Eve she kidnaps a hunky customer to take home to mama. Starring Mario Lopez and Melissa Joan Hart.

The Search for Santa Paws

Santa has amnesia and forgets all about Christmas, so Santa's elves and some magic dogs team up to help him. Starring Reese Alexander and Diedrich Bader.

Desperately Seeking Santa
