Countdown to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

Shelly Barclay
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 is due out in theaters in July of 2011. It is the last installment in the Harry Potter films and set to be one of the biggest movies of the year. Part 1 of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows ended on a serious cliffhanger. That, on top of the enormous popularity of the Harry Potter series should suffice to make moviemakers a little bit of money.

Warning: Potential spoilers ahead.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 followed Harry as he left his uncomfortable childhood home for the last time. Death Eaters and then Voldemort immediately set upon him. There is a happy interlude when Ron Weasley's brother Bill marries Fleur Delacour. In the middle of the wedding, the tone is set for the movie, when Death Eaters crash the wedding and Harry, Ron and Hermione are forced to venture out on their own within moments. The rest of the movie is contains more action and dark themes than any other Harry Potter movie. That is one reason why fans are counting down to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.

Another reason fans are counting down was mentioned above. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 ends with virtually no questions being answered. If you have not read the books, you do not know what Harry is going to do next. You do not know precisely what Voldemort is planning. It was quite an abrupt ending. It is enough to make you wish you waited until Part 2 was out to watch Part 1. The solution to that problem is to read the books.

The question is will the end be a disappointment? Many of us already know how the story ends, but will the film version be satisfactory? Will it live up to the countless imaginings of countless fans? It is difficult to say. The Harry Potter films have been good in general, but there have been aspects of the story that filmmakers botched. Let us just hope that they already got all of that out of their system because the ending of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has real potential for film.

If you are counting the days until Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 comes out, allow this countdown timer to do the counting for you.

I can't wait. Haven't seen part 1 yet though, don't have time or money to go to the movies, but a Harry Potter weekend is planned soon so we can watch all of the movies in one go.
