Country Heads, Empty Offices and Empty Heads

These are days of globalization. Multinationals and their executive designations globally spread. CEO, Global Head, Relationships Manager and Country Head are some examples of such specimens. They enjoy wide powers, patronage and influence apart from fantastic unimaginable salary and perquisites. So far so good. It is creditable indeed. They need our praise, appreciation and congratulations.

But one gains a different experience of a unique kind in at least one country where such designations enjoy a field day. To give an interesting illustration, one gentleman walks into an office dealing with recruitment. The recruitment agency welcomes the visitor. There is a name board in the lone cabin Ms. So and So. Country Head. The rest of the hall is empty for there is no partition and no name board. Probably they are to be filled by empty heads and global heads! But there is plenty of light and free air for all to enjoy and relax though the country is smaller than a county. The Country Head takes position first. Perhaps other heads will follow and later roll!.
