First Impressions
The first impression means everything. Especially in a small town with not many changes. Entering, you encounter a pleasant hostess and an inviting atmosphere. The décor resembles a modest kitchen from a traditional '50's home with warm tones and simple patterns.
Being in a party of 6, the seating was ample. There was enough room to seat at least 10 at the circular booths.
Dinner
The meals are prepared as if the guests are in their own kitchen. This is the appeal of Country Kitchen Iron Mountain, MI. Expect dishes with an ample amount of gravy and sauces. Reviewing the dishes, 90% are fried or deep fried. This is a negative if healthy eating is the style of eating expected. On the menu at Country Kitchen, a guest will find three salads, Cranberry Pecan Harvest, Crispy Orange Asian, and Country Cobb. They are only offered on the lunch menu.
The pricing structure will not leave guests in the poor house either. The majority of the meals at Country Kitchen are in the range of $5-10.
Specials
An aspect worth mentioning about Country Kitchen is the daily specials. The first special is the "Kid's Eat Free" Tuesdays. This special is available if an adult entrée is purchased. Be cautious since this special does not apply to all Country Kitchen's, only the location in Iron Mountain, MI. Another special is the Burger Bliss promotion. The specialty burgers can be prepared the way you want them prepared. Burgers include:
Baconegger (fried egg, cherrywood-smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato)
Ragin' Cajun Burger (Gnarly Onion Tanglers, Pepper Jack cheese, FRANK'S® REDHOT® sauce and Cajun spices heat this burger up like the Louisiana Bayou)
BBQ Smokehouse (cherrywood-smoked bacon, sliced ham, lettuce, tomato and zesty BBQ sauce)
Italiano Burger (Pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, marinara sauce, onions, lettuce and tomato)
Country Kitchen also has drink specials. The specialties:
Orange Cream Blender (Hand-scooped vanilla ice cream, fresh orange juice and Sprite)
Atlantic Cranberry Seabreeze (Fresh-brewed Lipton iced tea mixed with cranberry juice, apple juice and delicious lemonade).

My Take and Thoughts
I was delighted by the humble approach to Country Kitchen. There was a not frills approach to the décor. The atmosphere was welcoming and the service was superb. Another positive was the Kid's Eat Free Special. On Tuesday's, kids eat free with the purchase of an adult entrée. Country Kitchen is the type of restaurant guests will be talking about for years to come.
