Country Music Awards 2010, Show Opener, Song of the Year

CMA Awards 2010, Get Connected Live

The 45th annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas opens up with a grand slam in performance as host Reba McEntire presents Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood as they belt out Playing in a Traveling Band while Creedence Clearwater Revival's own John Fogerty joins in. But that wasn't all. Charlie Daniels took a shot at it with his smoking fiddle.

"That's how you start a television show son!" Daniels clears the floor for McEntire.

Spunky Reba opened up with comedy one liners including that she'd like to thank Tiger Woods and Jesse James for inspiring everyone. McEntire also compliments her appearance while in a beautiful low back dress. A five star celebrity look!

As Reba goes through the list of eight nominee names with a comical twist including mentioning Carry Underwood's engagement to a hockey player and Keith Urban's weakness for red heads she begins to welcomes to next famous celebrity to the stage. None other than Cher.

Cher comes out with tight pants, her classic leather appeal and high heels with a short family story about her mother and how she believed that country music and Disney soundtracks were the only songs that existed as a child.

The hunky Blake Shelton came on stage as Cher introduced him. From the side came Trace Atkins joining in as Blake sang Hillbilly Bone. If this is a view into what's to come better tune in fast! It will be the last night that Brooks and Dunn perform together.

The Song of the Year went to Need You Now by Lady Antebellum. In a fusia color long dress the lady comes to the stage as each performer thanks all that assisted them in their country quests.

Other performances of the night includes Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw, Brooks and Dunn, and other great country artists. So sit back and keep those boots on for some serious dancing in the living room, the night is young.

Tune into CBS.com to vote for one of the eight nominees in the running for Entertainer of the Year. The choices are Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, George Strait, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift, Toby Keith, or Zac Brown Band.

The Academy of Country Music Awards online shares a live feed for viewers. The show began at 8 p.m. and is said to last until 11.
