While Memphis, Tennessee, might primarily be famous for Beale Street, Elvis, the blues and great BBQ, Memphis has one other claim to fame: country music. While the neighboring city of Nashville is known for scooting its boots to country music, that style of dance is no stranger to Memphis. Country music dance clubs are quite popular in Memphis, and there are several dance clubs within the city to choose from.

Shooters is a popular club in Memphis, Tennessee, featuring house bands such as Web Dalton and the Web Dalton Gang. This dance club has been the birthplace of videos for the group, as well as a television show called "Memphis Stepping Out." This show, taped back in 1992, was a version of Club Dance out of Nashville. Today, Shooters is still a common place for dancing and partying. Shooter features a large dance floor, bands and several pool tables.

Coyote Ugly in Memphis is one in a chain of 11. Spread across this nation, Coyote Ugly bar originally opened in New York City-and there is talk of a Coyote Ugly international. Made ever more famous by the hit movie "Coyote Ugly," the chain of bars continues to grow. Memphis' Coyote Ugly saloon features different drink specials daily and has a military discount and a ladies' night. This saloon offers a huge dance floor and plenty of unique drinks. Coyote Ugly hours are Tuesday to Thursday from 4 p.m. until 1 a.m.; Friday: 4 p.m. until 3 a.m.; Saturday: 2 p.m. until 3 a.m.; and Sunday: 5 p.m. until 1 a.m. It is closed on Monday.

Wild Bill's is a classic club that prides itself on country and blues. This is the all-American road house. If frills and strobe lights are what you are looking for, this isn't the place for you. Wild Bill's is a casual, fun atmosphere. Not a full bar, patrons love the quarts of beer sold at reasonable prices. Wild Bill's is open seven days a week, closing each day at 3 a.m. When the band starts around 10 p.m., be ready for a full dance floor. Everyone loves to rock out to the live music. For the full fill of Memphis atmosphere, spend an evening at Wild Bill's.

Memphis is primarily known for the blues, but country music has always been intertwined with the blues and rock and roll genres. These clubs are great for just that, to be able to scoot those boots!

Debbie you probably should update your article, Shooters burned down quite a while back and I'm not so sure Wild Bill's is still around. About the only couuntry dance around is at Bert Fergurson's community center on the first Sat of each month 7:30pm to 11pm. And if enough people don't start coming, it will go away also. Haven't been to Coyote Ugly yet, but I'll check it out.
