Country Music is Here to Stay - The Home of Country Music is in Branson

If you seem to be missing the sounds of the "old-time" country music, then Branson, Missouri is the place for you. From the country music shows, to shopping to lake activities, there is something for any age group.

Located in Southern Missouri, deep in the Ozarks, you can drive down Highway 76 and see the lights for miles. There are a number of shows that are sure to entertain. From the Baldknobbers Jamboree to the Presleys Country Jubilee, the Dixie Stampede Dinner and Show to Dick Clark's American Bandstand shows, there is something for everyone. If you are looking for some laughs, you will find Yakov Smirnoff. Looking for some fun on the water? How about the Showboat Branson Belle. Everywhere you turn is a fun adventure.

For some relaxing shoppping, there is the Tanger Mall or the Factory Merchants of Branson. A new project underway in Branson is known as Branson Landing. This site occupies 95 acres, including 1.5 miles of waterfront. This new area will include a 4-star hotel, 140 waterfront luxury condominiums, a variety of eateries for those wanting a spectaculour waterfront view, or those on the go.

For a little fun, you can visit Silver Dollar City, Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum, White Water, Celebration City or several miniature golf establishments.

After a long day of shopping and fun, Branson offers a large variety of dining options. You can find several family restaurants, BBQ, seafood, mexican and fast food restaurants.

Branson has become a popular vacation destination, and people come to visit from all over the country. It is sure to be even better in the years to come.

It was named for Rueben Branson, postmaster and operator of a general store in the area in the 1880s.
