Country Music's Sweetheart Kellie Pickler Engaged

In an interview with "People Magazine" Jacobs spoke of the June 15^th proposal saying, "Afterward we just held each other and said the most beautiful prayer, we had a little champagne and talked and laughed and cried." Pickler told "People," "It turned out to be the most amazing day of my life. My whole world changed. We both feel like we got my grandmother's blessing."

Kellie Pickler came from humble beginnings and was raised by her grandmother after being abandoned by her mother and watching her father serve-out a three year, nine month prison sentence in a Florida state jail.

Pickler candidly admitted her struggle with depression and when speaking about her appearance at the 41^st CMA Awards Kellie stated, "That should have been one of the most magical nights of my life, career-wise, but in my personal life, I was so depressed. I was going through a break-up, which was bad enough. Then, right before I was to go on stage, I got a call from someone back home telling me that my mother had shown up, and was talking to the press. It was all too much, and I just broke down on stage."

Although Kellie Pickler has had difficult times in her personal life she's had much success over the years starting as a 5^th season "American Idol" finalist. Her first album "Small Town Girl" was released on October 31, 2006 and was certified Gold just months after its release. The album topped "Billboard's Top Country Albums Chart" and was number nine on "Billboard's Top 200." In addition, album sales were over 79,000 in its first week which made Pickler the "highest selling (new album sales) new artist in 2006."

Kellie has made several television appearances including "Live with Regis & Kelly," "The Today Show," "Larry King Live," "The View," "The CBS Early Show," "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," and "CMT Music Awards." Additionally Pickler has raised money to support many charities including "St. Jude Children's Research Hospital" where she frequently visits children.

Through the ups and downs of Kellie Pickler's life she has remained strong, humble, and compassionate towards others and has learned to look forward to every day and is happier than she's ever been before.
