This is a Farming Game Put Together by Playfish

This is a guide for the game Country Story by Playfish. There are over five million monthly active users and is rated 4.1 out of 5 on Facebook. I believe that this game is going through some major modifications and construction, as things that should be on this game are not present at this time. But this is a basic guide as there are many aspects to this game. As you first start this game it is very easy to choose a character, name, clothing and colors of your house. This game also has a good tutorial so that you can get the hang of the basics.

The idea of this game is to plow, plant, water and harvest your crops in order to earn money. You can also buy animals to raise and in turn, they produce various products in which you can sell to earn more money. This game is also very generous on their gifts. Any time you visit one of your friends for the first time you will receive three gifts. You also can earn trophies that are actually worth something. Each time you earn a trophy your production goes up on that specific item. To see what trophies you are working on just click on the trophy icon located on the right hand side of the page. Click on the individual trophies to see the requirements and rewards for completing them.

There are many different kinds of seeds at various prices that you can choose from. Most of them are locked until you start moving up through the levels. There are even trophies for each type of seed to help your production increase as you reach those levels. When watering your fields you get free water from the well. As you level up in the game how much water you can carry will increase. If you are watering at a friends farm, you can also get free water from their wells.

Every game must have some sort of a twist to keep you engaged. Country Story has what they call magic trees. You must plant ordinary fruit bearing trees and harvest them until they no longer produce any fruit. At that time you will receive one last piece of fruit called a Tree Spirit. After you have collected at least three of these Tree Spirits you can go to the Magic Tree Book and see what kind of magic trees you can purchase with your Tree Spirit fruits. Playfish says that you are able to purchase fruit trees from the Animal/Tree Shop in the village. But at this time it is only the Animal Shop. I have been unable to purchase trees anywhere. I'm hoping this is a minor thing and it will be restored soon.

Your Country Story farmer also has a stamina bar in the top left hand corner of your screen. You do have to feed your farmer or let him rest for six hours in order to restore it. Your stamina level also increases as you level up through the game. The food is another thing that gets gifted a lot.

When you visit your friends you can water their fields. If there is something growing in the field you get experience points for it. You can also pick up any wood or rocks laying around their farm. There are trophies for picking up wood and rocks. It looks like they are wanting to add some sort of construction service in the future, but it is not yet available. If you go and look at the cost of the wood and rocks in the store they cost 500 coins each. I suggest if you have a bit of time to pick a few up here and there, just hold on to them and see what Playfish does with that feature. Another thing you can do while you are visiting your friends is steal some of their crops. There is a limit and some people may not like you stealing their crops. So beware when using this feature. And don't get upset when your friends come over and steal your crops either. If a friend has a dog and you try to steal their crops, the dog will take away 50 coins and one of your hands.

There is also a village button that will take you to another screen. The village has a market for you to purchase your food or seeds in only. The Mayor's house is there to help you with your Quest Book. The Animal Shop is a store for you to purchase animals in. As you click on each animal it will tell you it's cost, what the animal eats, produces and how much the produced item is worth. They also have a bank. The bank has the option to purchase Playfish cash with your Paypal or credit cards. But it will also allow you to buy a few Playfish cash with your earned coins from the game. They are rather pricy, but it's the first game I have seen in which you can purchase them in this manner. There is also a link to go visit your friends on the street sign out front. And, of course, a link back home.

Fertilizer is another great benefit to this game. I have picked up many free bags just by visiting my friends. There are various levels to fertilizer, but the best one is the instant. One click and your crop is ready, no matter how much longer it had to grow.

Your storage feature is great! It holds all of your harvested crops, all of your gifts, foods, seeds and anything you may have purchased in the village. You can also sell anything from your storage by simply dragging it over to the cash register on the left hand side of the screen when you are in your storage.

My overall impression of this game is I think it is a neat game. But until they get the glitches worked out and have all parts of it fully functioning, I won't be spending a lot of time on it.
