County/State Fairs in the Mid-West

Great Late Summer Vacations in Michigan, Illinois, Ohio and Wisconsin

Dee Dee Smith
One of my fondest memories growing up was going to the county fair in Saginaw the weekend of Labor Day. It was a family tradition for most of my childhood and teen life. I can still smell the french fries drenched with vinegar along with the smell of pigs, horses, cows and other farm animals. It's amazing to think that I would eat and walk around and view the animals at the same time. Don't think my stomach could handle that today.

County and state fairs make wonderful stress-free, economical family vacations. Your family can enjoy great outdoor concerts, agricultural exhibits, carnival rides, fun contests and shows, tasty food and much more. Although most fairs are held in July/early August, some fairs are held in late summer. Here are a list of late summer fairs in the Mid-West.
