It's Easy to Cut Costs Instead of Corners when You Have the Right Tools!

Kathleen McCracken
Excited for no reason whatsoever accept the fact that tomorrow is Saturday, you don't have to go in to work and you hope to catch up on your errands and maybe your sleep. As you breathe a sigh of relief and plot out your week-end errands, you suddenly realize your wallet is empty. You kick yourself for not taking your coupons with you last week when you did your grocery shopping. You could have saved at least $50! With school starting in two weeks and no school supplies yet, what's a parent to do?

If you are like the majority of us, you dread the thought of cutting coupons from the Sunday newspaper. Remembering to take them with you to the grocery store is another story! Following are some helpful suggestions to lower your grocery bill before you reach the checkout lane.

Watch the weekly sale flyers from your local grocery store. Many grocery store chains even advertise their sales and in-store coupons online. Check out the following popular websites: www.target.com, www.buschs.com, www.meijer.com, www.publix.com, www.kroger.com. Did you know that you can download coupons from the Kroger website right onto your Kroger card? There are step-by-step instructions available online. When you are at the checkout, simply hand the cashier your Kroger card and the discounts will be applied immediately to your order. No more coupons to shuffle! Target offers coupons for use specifically at Target. These can be downloaded from your computer ahead of time and used at your local Target.

With the holidays looming around the corner you may want to get a jumpstart on your holiday shopping and start saving now. Many free coupon websites reveal offers above and beyond the typical manufacturers' coupons. See the suggestions below..
