Courtney Love Changes Name: She's Sick of Kurt Cobain Questions

Rocker, Courtney Love has decided that she wants to be called by her real name from now on, declaring "Courtney Love is dead". Evidently, the Hole frontwoman is as sick of being associated with her late husband, Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, as Juliette Lewis is of being associated with Brad Pitt. (As far as we know Jennifer Aniston doesn't mind).

Courtney wishes to be called "Courtney Michelle" which is her real first name and middle name. She was born Courtney Michelle Harrison on July 9, 1964. She married Kurt Cobain on February 24, 1992. He committed suicide on April 5, 1994. Ever since, Courtney has been dogged by questions about him. She is also the mother of their child, Frances Bean.

"I am not his spokesperson on Earth," she told the magazine. "I don't know what he'd be like now, he could be into society girls, he could be into fat girls, he could be homosexual. We don't know, he died at 27."

Courtney will turn 46 this year. She is currently back on the road with her band, Hole. They will be releasing a new album toward the end of April called "So alone." Courtney says it is a feeling she can relate to late since she lost custody of Frances Bean last year, who was placed under the temporary guardianship of her grandmother.

"I'm ultimately a widow and a single mother, who's not even getting to be a mother right now. I am so alone, it's freaky."

Well, I don't have a problem calling her "Courtney Michelle," even though I was kind of partial to the name "Courtney Love." The band name "Hole" not so much, you know?
