Courtney Love Halloween Costume

Courtney Love is one of the top celebrities that come to mind when you think "hot mess". She's got more years of experience in this area than Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, and Amy Winehouse. So if you are already going to be stumbling around on Halloween, why not make it relevant to your costume and dress up as Courtney Love? Courtney Love Halloween Costume: Clothing
There isn't much clothing needed for this costume considering we usually see more of Courtney Love hanging out of clothes than in them. You will need a lacy black bra that will still be showing from under what you choose to wear over it. Then throw on a black or white slip, preferably one that comes as far above your knees as possible. If you can't find one short enough, use safety pins to make it shorter. Another option would be to wear a vintage baby doll dress.

Courtney Love Halloween Costume: Hair
Courtney Love has platinum blonde hair with a bit of a curl to it and bangs (not to mention dark roots). If you don't naturally have the hair to pull this look off, try picking up this wig, put gel in it and pull it into chunks to make it look a little bit stringy. If you are going for the early 90's Courtney Love look, throw in a few plastic children's hair barrettes from WalMart or the dollar store.

Courtney Love Halloween Costume: Accessories
Throw on a tiara; it doesn't matter if it is a nice one from a craft store that was meant for a wedding or a dinky plastic one from the dollar store. You will also need a pair of black panty hose with runs and holes in them. If you are buying a new pair of stockings, pick them with your fingernails, a pin, a knife, or a nail file to give it that extra grunge look. You will also need a pair of black high heeled shoes even though walking around barefoot might look a little more authentic. Throw on a fake fur coat or little pink cardigan to keep yourself warm and you are ready to hit the town!
