The Monsters in My Room

Wait, what was that sound?
Deep, dark shadows are lurking around.
Cover my head.

Slowly, cautiously peeking out with dread;
what is that eerie shape by my bed?
Cover my head.

This blanket's so tight, I can't breathe;
need to pull it down for a slight reprieve.
Cover my head.

That may be my robe hanging on that hook;
or is it a monster? I can't look.
Cover my head.

I'm so scared lying in my bed.
If in the morning you find me dead,

Please----cover my head!
