COLOR
I have CoverGirl Lash Blast in Very Black, and while mascara colors may not be very exciting, I really like how bold and daring this dark black makes my lashes look.
FORMULA
Formula is the biggest thing in mascaras and with this one, I have no complaints. It applies very smoothly and evenly and I can see my lashes getting bigger as I use it. I curl my lashes before applying mascara at all times, but even when I forget, this mascara gives them a nice, flirty shape. I can't say that my lashes get a lot longer, but that's alright for me since I have long lashes. This mascara has not clumped so far while I have been using it, and doesn't give me spider lashes, which is great, so I really love the formula.
BRUSH
The brush on this mascara is great. I do have smaller eyes, and this brush is pretty big, but one swipe and my lashes are covered. It covers them very easily and spreads them apart, circumventing any spider look. This brush does remind me of my old favorite Supershock, but I do not see a lot of similarities between this brush and the one it is normally compared to, DiorShow.
FUNCTIONALITY
There's not much to say about functionality- mascara is a tube, therefore portable. The color is not overpowering or too light so it is great for everyday.
SMELL
Mascaras can have a weird scent, however, I do not detect any weird smell with Lash Blast. It might be there, but if it is, it is too subtle to notice.
PRICE
Lash Blast retails for about $8 at drugstores and any other place you can find CoverGirl products. To me, that is a great price for beautiful lashes. When you think about it, $8 is really not a lot to pay for three to six months of a must have beauty item.
PACKAGING
I like the packaging for this mascara because since it is so bright and colorful, you can't lose it in your purse. It is a bright orange tube with a bit of a weird shape, and it has a band around the center, denoting whether it is waterproof or not. The waterproof one has a blue band; the regular has a silver band, which is what I have.
FINAL OPINIONS
I adore this mascara! I feel it is well priced, a good color, and a fabulous formula. I know some people do not like it, but to anyone that hasn't tried it, try it! You may be pleasantly surprised by this drugstore mascara. Although, it doesn't really matter what others think, because I love this mascara and will continue to use it as long as I can.
