COVERGIRL makes it easy for you. On one side of the shadow stick is a rounded tip that allows you to easily apply color to the entire eyelid. The color combination I tried was Bronze Fire, which came with a soft pink shadow and bronze liner. The stick also comes with labeled edges, so you are easily able to identify which color to use where. Once you apply the base color to the eyelid, be sure to rub it in for even coverage. The color is subtle enough to make the look appropriate for night and day, but still noticeable for a classic smoky eye look.
The tapered end is for defining the eye in the crease and applying a smudged line at the lashes. Since the end is tapered, it is easy to use along the lash line and allows you to be precise in adding color to the crease. Once you have applied the contrasting color to the eye, smudge the color to blend in with the base and create the smoky appearance. When you are satisfied with the look, apply mascara to the lashes. I prefer to use COVERGIRL's LashBlast Mascara, since it coats each of the lashes without looking clumpy.
Since there are so many colors in the Smoky ShadowBlast collection, there are plenty of shades to choose from to complement eye color or skin tone. If you are on a budget, the affordable cost of ShadowBlast is especially beneficial since you have a two-in-one product. You can also use the shades alone. If you want a subtle shimmer on the eyelids, simply use the base color alone and if you just want to add some definition to your lashes, smudge the eyeliner near the lash line. The convenient packaging makes it perfect to stash in your purse for a touch-up after work before going out, or it can easily be added to the gym bag to apply color after a shower.
For some, the thought of creating a smoky eye look is daunting especially if you have trouble with eyeliner. The creamy color makes it easy to apply and the color combinations picked out by COVERGIRL experts make it virtually a foolproof option in creating a sexy look for night or day.
