We started out with just moisturizer, and took an eye photo to show a good "before" picture. Then we did the works: foundation, concealer, blush, and eyebrow color, to get the pre-ShadowBlast look (better than the "before" shot, but not by a lot). And then we really got down to business.
The Smoky ShadowBlast came with handy instructions, just in case the user has never tried to achieve a smoky look before. First, we used the Smoke end, which has a rounded end, from lash-line to just under the brow bone. It went on quite smoothly and evenly. My only complaint, if you can call it that, is that Smoke is so light that it doesn't cover the little blue veins in the eyelid very well. We could and should have started with an eye primer, but younger women may not have that problem. We took photos of eyes open and closed with just the Smoke color on them.
Next, the Onyx end. This dark end has a flat, angled end, making it ideal for putting color on the crease and along the upper lash line, as the instructions specified. We "winged" it out and up from the outer eye corner a bit for a more dramatic look, and you can make an even more dramatic look if you run the darker color along the outer half of the lower lash line too.
I truly am impressed with this product. The colors are creamy and go on very easily. The rounded end (the lighter color) smoothes right on over the lid and the dark end is perfectly designed to make a slightly blurred line. I'd suggest using a smudge brush of your choice to smudge the line around the outer corner of your eyes, just to make it a little more dramatic and smoky. But ShadowBlast takes the smoky eye look from several steps with different products to one product in two steps. Anyone can do this, and achieve a great smoky look!

Post a CommentI am so sorry you had this experience. Check your local discount stores (like Target or Wal-Mart or even CVS or Walgreens) for E.L.F. (eyeslipsface) cosmetics; they are usually $1 per item, or $4 for a four-color palette, and they are REALLY good make-up at a VERY affordable price! I wish you success with them, and hope that happiness re-enters your life. Your child would not want you to stay sad and disappointed, truly.
i recently purchased 2 different ShadowBlasts. thinking this was a good product and such i thought I was making an investment in makeup. I'm not a heavy makeup wearer but i really thought this was very cool, expensive, but cool. My only child passed away of cancer in late Dec. 2010. He was my main priority and i lived on general assistance for a good part of his life and i wouldve never dreamed of making a purchase of this sort when he was growing up. Since his passing ive been trying to make myself feel better about myself and I got alot of compliments when i wore this makeup. I've had them for less then 2 months and they have both broke off on the light side and feel in the drain and on the floor. I am so afraid of getting an eye infection or something of that nature that i'm afraid to wear them. I have never spent over $10 on makeup ever and when i do then this occured. I was very devastating and upset because i'm not in the position to throw away $20 for makeup. I love the Drew Berrymore commercials but i'm very upset with the covergirl makeup and i'll spend my money on cheap makeup like i had for 15 years. It just felt good to wear a expensive product for the 1st time in my life and boosted my self-esteem a tad I'm so disappointed that it turned out this way i'm tired of disappointments in my life..
