Cowgirl Chocolates are chocolate bars and truffles in spicy and regular sweet varieties. They also sell hot chocolate mix in both regular and spicy and seasonal favorites like chocolate bunnies for Easter. The chocolates come in cute, slightly kitschy packaging with the cowgirl symbol on them. I tried a mix of mild and spicy truffles to find out if Cowgirl Chocolates were as tasty as they were intriguing.
How Do Cowgirl Chocolates Taste?
The spicy Cowgirl Chocolates are not for the faint of heart. I have to admit that I am a bit of a wimp when it comes to spice, and only recently graduated from mild to medium. I was excited, but a little bit apprehensive when I opened my little box of mixed truffles. To my surprise, I ended up liking the spicy truffles more than the regular sweet ones. The intense spice forced me to enjoy the truffle slowly instead of eating it all in one bite. It basically has a built in portion control, which is a great thing when you want a sweet but don't want to overindulge. My only disappointment was that the strong spice masked the other flavors a bit and it was hard to detect any hazelnut in the spicy hazelnut truffle. But overall, I thought these chocolates were really fun, tasty, and unique. I definitely intend to buy more flavors and share these with my more adventurous friends.
Where To Buy Cowgirl Chocolates
Cowgirl Chocolates are available online at www.cowgirlchocolates.com. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering how unique these chocolates are. Some of the most interesting flavor varieties include Spicy Lime Tequila, Spicy Huckleberry Dark Chocolate, Lavender Dark Chocolate, Lemonade White Chocolate, and Sarsaparilla Milk Chocolate. The bars of chocolate can be bought individually for $2.50 each or as an assortment. The small truffles are available in a variety of assortments as well.
The Verdict on Cowgirl Chocolates
I recommend Cowgirl Chocolates to all the adventurous eaters out there. These chocolates would make a great gift for someone you know who is open to trying new things. The mild chocolates are good quality, but a bit boring when compared to their spicier counterparts, so if you have to choose, try the spicy ones. I would recommend sticking with the mild chocolates for younger children though, since the spicy ones really do pack a punch. Overall, I was highly impressed by these unique chocolates.
