Cozy Mysteries with Thanksgiving Themes

Cozy Mysteries, Thanksgiving Themes,

Barbara Henderson
Thanksgiving is wedged between Halloween and Christmas, but it is a very important time of the year. Everyone should pause at least once a year to reflect on how blessed we are and to be thankful!

There are many cozy mystery writers who remembered Thanksgiving by writing a cozy mystery book that took place at Thanksgiving. So, finish up those Halloween books, grab a handful of candy you have left from Halloween and read a cozy mystery with a Thanksgiving theme. Cozy mysteries are fun reading with less graphic scenes and more amateur sleuths.

You may want to start with Death of a Turkey by Kate Borden. It is one of her Peggy Jean Turner mystery series and a great Thanksgiving cozy mystery.

Donald Bain came through for us with a Murder She Wrote book called A Total Feast. It is brand new and is hot off the presses in October of 2009.

The Risk of Fortune is one of the Dr. Risk books that were written by Bob Berger. This cozy mystery also takes place at Thanksgiving.

The Claire Rawlings Mystery series offers Who Killed Mona Lisa as a Thanksgiving cozy mystery book. This cozy mystery series is written by Carole Bugge.

Turkey Day Murder is one of the Lucy Stone Mysteries that are written by Leslie Meier. The Lucy Stone Mysteries are always great reading and I'm sure this Thanksgiving cozy is no different.

Goody, Goody Gunshots is written by Sammi Carter and is one of the Candy Shop Series of Cozy Mysteries.

The Cat Marsala Series of cozies included a Thanksgiving offering for us also. The name of that selection is Hard Tack and the author of this series is Barbara D'Amato.

Don't forget to read Mary Daheim's addition to the Thanksgiving cozy list. Her book entitled Fowl Prey is part of the Bed and Breakfast Series

The Thanksgiving Day Murder is part of the Christine Bennett Mystery Series. This cozy mystery was written by Lee Harris.

The Diva Runs Out of Thyme is the next Thanksgiving cozy on my list. It is part of the Domestic Diva Series written by Krista Davis.

The Doctor Makes a Dollhouse Call is the second book in a series called Dr. Fenimore Mysteries. This mystery series is written by Robin Hathaway.

The Telltale Turkey Caper has a Thanksgiving setting. Georgette Livingston is the author of this cozy mystery that is part of the Avalon Mystery Series.

Clair Daniels adds one final Thanksgiving cozy for us. The title of this book is Final Intuition. It is one of the Berkley Prime Crime Mysteries.

There are many more fun cozy mysteries that take place at Thanksgiving but it's hard to list them all or to get them all read. Christmas will be coming along really soon so maybe this is enough to keep you busy for now. So, read a Thanksgiving cozy mystery and stop and be thankful!
