CP Spotlight: Anna Swan

Meet Content Producer Anna Swan

Patti Stafford
The weather here in Northwest Arkansas has been absolutely gorgeous the past week so it's been a great time for get-togethers and girl talk. Any time spent with Anna is a great time. She is fun-loving, tickled pink to just be alive and an absolute joy to ride back roads with.
Interviewing Anna was just another day of chit chatty girl talk, but we did manage to get a few 'important' issues in the conversation.

Q. Why did you start producing web content, as opposed to traditional writing?

Anna: Writing web content gets my name out there almost instantly. No hassle with submitting to multiple publications, no waiting and checking the mail to see what was accepted and what they passed on. The traditional processes can take months to get a single article to print. Web content is so much faster. And when you're goal is to get exposure, speed matters.

Q. What really inspires you to write?

Anna: I've noticed it's easier for me to write when I don't wake up and say to myself - okay, I have to write an article today. My best articles have come, instead, from waking up and realizing I have something on my mind and turning interest into inspiration.

Q. Tell us one thing about yourself that people might not know.

Anna: I've raised six children, and lived to show the photographs.

Q. What has been your greatest success in life?

Anna: None of those six children are in jail? No, kidding aside, they really are my greatest success.

Q. If you where trapped on an island by yourself what 3 things could you not live without?

Anna: By myself? Are you serious? No children, no hubby? No phone? No bills to pay? Why do you tease me so? I suppose after a few months of wallowing in "me time", I might wish I had Ani DiFranco's CD "Living In Clip", a never ending supply of batteries, and my Walkman - yeah so I'm a little behind in technology.

Q. Name 5 songs that you would include on your personal life soundtrack.
1. Lightning Crashes - Live
2. Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong
3. Don't Worry, Be Happy - Bobby McFerrin
4. Wild Child - Iggy Pop
5. Wild Horses - The Rolling Stone's version

Q. What actor would you want to play you in your life story and why?

Anna: Katie Segal, we look quite a lot alike when I have my hair dark - and I'm pretty sure she plagiarized my life with her role as Peg Bundy.

Q. What made you start writing for Associated Content?

Anna: Strangely enough, the woman who's conducting this interview, Ann King. And if I remember right, her encouraging words were along the lines of - "You ain't doing nothing else."

Q. What color best describes your personality and why?

Anna: This one is so easy, I'm 100% red! Bold, outspoken, an attention whore, uncontrollably optimistic, dangerously opinionated.

While these answers show her lighthearted side and how she enjoys just having fun, she is truly a remarkable woman with her ability to glide through any situation with a smile on her face and a joke to go with it.
