She chooses things to write about ideas which come to her mind and leave her with questions. She researches and gathers information and then writes to process her own thoughts. Because she is presently taking college courses through the Internet, her first published article had to do with how to be successful in taking Internet courses.
She has an adventuresome background, having walked on hot coals, jumped off cliffs and gone parasailing in her youth. A sense of her own mortality has put a curb on that kind of experience, and she says she has decided to live as long as possible. However, she says that those exciting moments in her life were not the most successful things she has ever done. Dianna says that those were the births of her 4 children - literally the birthing process - and she says those happened only because she couldn't quit before the end!
Just giving birth to her children was not her only success. She also home schooled the first three of her children until this year. They entered public school and are doing very well. The discipline that she had to use to be consistent in her home schooling also serves her well as she writes while taking classes herself. Besides "writing her way through college," she wants to sell the plays she has been composing for years and her dream job would be to be a writing professor in a university.
If she was stuck on a deserted island, Dianna would need (after the traditional food, water and shelter, of course) hair tweezers "so she would still look human when she was rescued", a book of Scriptures, and her belly dancing music. When asked what songs she would use to describe her life, she was overwhelmed with choices, but finally decided on "Lullaby' by Brahms because she has been singing it to her children for years, "Oceano" by Josh Grabin, "How Great Thou Art" and "I Won't Back Down" by Tom Petty. She was unable to choose another as she says there are just too many good choices!
Dianna feels periwinkle blue is her color because it changes hues depending on the color nearest it. She says, "For good or bad, I am a chameleon and I'm often a slightly different person depending on whom I'm with!"
If someone played her in a movie, she would choose Candice Bergen. Besides being an intelligent woman and an amazing actress, Ms. Bergen is a beautiful woman and Dianna says people have told her she resembles her physically. Besides, she says, "Better Candice Bergen than Danny DeVito!"
