I'm never good at this question. I'm 31 now and from Allentown,
Pennsylvania. I have Duchene's Muscular Dystrophy and use a
wheelchair. I've a BA degree in finance. I like to debate/argue,
watch, read and write horror, collect werewolf/wolf/horror items. Not
much else to say.
I have read your articles and love your poetry and reviews. When did
you start to do them?
I didn't really start writing poetry until 11th grade English class.
I wrote a story about an eagle and the teacher gave me an A which
encouraged me to write more. Then, of course, I wrote a few poems for
a girl. :) Once I got online, I posted a few poems in a poetry chat
room and received great comments. Now I write mostly sad or horror poems.
I started writing horror movie reviews for a horror site and then a
second site. But, after a disagreement with the first site, I started
my own horror site for the disabled, wheelsofterror.com
I understand you are the moderator for at least two Yahoo Lists. Can
you tell me a little about them?
Oh, I own and moderate several groups. First is wheelsofterror for my
site of the same name. Second is ThePaddedCell which is only for my
closest friends as a general chat group. LehighValley is my largest
group for people local to where I live in the Lehigh Valley.
SpookyTown is a group for collectors of the Lemax Spooky Town
collectible building and figurines.
Who, do you most admire on your lists and why?
I suppose that's George Kouri because he always speaks his mind.
Judy, Del, Steve because they rarely lose their composure, even
during heated discussions.
I noticed that you write mostly poetry and movie reviews. Which do
you like to do better?
Both are too different to compare. I like reviews because they allow
me to air my thoughts about movies and some people will read them and
take my recommendations. Poetry is fun and a way to air my inner most
emotions creatively. But poetry is more subjective so there isn't
usually a full understanding of my intentions as its creator which is
a little bit of a negative over reviews.
Which of all your content postings is your own personal favorite?
I guess, so far, that would be my article about Hess toy trucks
because it took a bit of work to write and collect photos. I collect
many things and it feels good to share my knowledge with others. I
will write more collectibles articles in the future.
That and my review of Yocco's Hot Dogs, a local chain of hot dog
restaurants in Allentown, Pennsylvania. It was fun to write.
Have you gotten a favorite AC Associate yet who you like to read? If
so who and why?
Hm, I don't really have a favorite. But I do read and like a bit of
what Steve Joltin writes about coins, books and some of his poetry
which has gotten better lately. Then there's Jonathan Knight & George
Kouri who write a lot of fun horror-related reviews and articles.
What are your best assets in writing?
My ability to express my opinion and use a wide variety of words to do so.
What is the best advice you could give a new content producer?
Hmm. It depends on your writing topics. For reviews, try to stick
with post-2000 films unless they're very popular movies. Use photos
to catch readers' eyes. Aside from reviews, the most popular articles
on AC are "how to" guides or articles which teach others things.
Current news and pop culture are big too but they need to be really
current. If AC rejects your work, try to fix what the content manager
says and resubmit. If it's rejected a few times for monetary
consideration, you can submit it for free and use it to get more page
views and clout for paying articles.
What is your favorite hobby?
Collecting Universal Monsters and werewolf items (movies, figurines,
statues, toys, etc.) and working on my wheelsofterror site. Oh, and
reading horror books.
