CPSC Announces the Recall of "Cars" Game Pieces, Reynolds Bicycle Forks, Cybex Treadmills, and Line Skis Ski Boards
Global Design Concepts Inc., of New York, N.Y., recalled about 110,000 magnetic game pieces sold with "Cars" themed 12" backpacks. The backpacks came with four sealed game pieces. The game pieces included a red and a blue plastic car, and two red and black plastic disks with "GAS," "OIL," and "SERVICE" printed on them. The backpacks were sold nationwide at Target in the time frame from February 2007 to September 2007. Consumers should immediately take the game pieces away from young children. Consumers can contact the Cars Backpack recall hotline at (877) 848-4070 or visit the website at www.carsbackpackrecall.com for further information on how to return the game pieces in exchange for a free "Cars" wallet or similar product.
MacLean Quality Composites, d.b.a. Reynolds, of West Jordan, Utah, recalled 330 Reynolds UL Bicycle Forks, because the fork tips could become loose from the fork legs. This would cause the bicycle wheel to separate from the fork. As a result the rider could fall and experience serious injury. The models recalled have the serial numbers 09100 to 10403, which can be found on the steer tube. The models have 43mm and 50mm rakes. The bicycle forks were sold through independent bicycle retailers nationwide in the time frame from October 2006 through May 2007, and were included in custom 2007 bicycle frame kits from Independent Fabrication, Litespeed, Lynskey Performance Designs LLC, Merlin, Parlee, Rock Lobster, Spectrum Cycles, Strong Frames, and Vicious Cycles. Consumers are advised to immediately stoop using the bicycles with the recalled forks and to contact Reynolds at (866) 798-3040, or www.reynoldscycling.com/recall, or recall@reynoldscycling.com, for information on how to obtain a free replacement fork.
Cybex International, Inc., of Medway, Mass., recalled 4,700 Cybex or Trotter Treadmills. 33,719 units had been previously recalled in October of 2003. Repair done on the Treadmills from the previous recall caused wire nuts to be installed improperly, which can cause the treadmills to overheat and poses a fire hazard. The recall relates to the treadmills "Cybex 400T," "Cybex410T," "Trotter 510," "Trotter 525", "Trotter 535", and "CXT+." These models were sold nationwide through Cybex International and Cybex dealers in the time frame from September 1993 to October 2001. Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the treadmills and to unplug them. While consumers will be contacted by Cybex, consumers can also call Cybex at (888) 678-3846 or www.cybexintl.com/retro for further information and to schedule a free repair.
Line Skis, of Seattle, Wash., recalled 1,250 model 2006 Line X-Fly and Line Pro Ski Boards. The binding on the boards can come loose or off during use, because of improper installation of screws. Thus, a skier can lose control and/or fall, which may result in serious injury. The recall concerns 2006 Line X-Fly and Line Pro model ski boards in lengths of 90 and 99 cm. The Pro models are "Pro90" and Pro98". The X-Fly models are "Fly90" and "Fly99." The boards were sold in ski, snowboard and sporting good stores in the time frame from September 2006 through January 2007. Consumers should not use the boards any longer. The boards can be returned to the stores for a full refund. If this is not possible, consumers should contact Line Skis at (800) 987-2576, or www.lineskis.com for further instructions. 99" is printed on the tail.
