Cracks

Nancy V Canfield
Cracks are all around us,
Try not to fall in one,
Don't step on any sidewalk cracks,
A broken back's no fun.

You can crack a whip or crack a code,
Or a window, book, or beer,
So many uses for that word,
Look, I've got one on my rear.

Cracks are popping up everywhere,
In the mall, the bar, and class room,
Cracks even peeking out of pants,
It's a statement, I presume.

Voices crack, and so do bones,
You can crack up mentally,
You might crack up while driving,
Or get crackin' on that degree.

You can take a crack at something,
Or crack down while in school,
Get up at the crack of dawn,
Or crack up laughing like a fool.

Cracking down on criminals,
And kids that make you crazy,
With smart wise cracks and lousy grades,
And being just plain lazy.

You can crack your head wide open,
You can crack a coffee cup,
Confucius say "Man who Fly upside down
Is flying with crack up."
