Things Needed To Make the Bunny Necklace:
33 inches of rattail or satin cord
2 white pony beads
10 pink pony beads
(6) 1/2" miniature wood spools
(3) 2 1/2" wood clothespins
(3) 1/4" pink pom-poms
(6) tiny wiggly eyes
White acrylic paint
Paintbrush
Drill with small bit
Scissors
Measuring tape
Six colors of embroidery floss
Craft glue
Emory board
Steps to Make the Bunny Necklace:
1. Drill through the sides of the clothespin bunny ears 3/4 inch from the end. Use the Emory board to smooth and sand the holes.
2. Paint the clothespins and spools with the white acrylic paint. Repeat with a second coat if needed. Allow the paint to dry.
3. Apply craft glue to the center post of a spool. Wrap one color of embroidery floss evenly around the post. Cut the floss. Repeat for the other spools.
4. On the face area of a bunny, glue the two white pom-poms on the lower edge for the cheeks. Glue the pink pom-pom in the crevice above the cheeks. Glue two wiggly eyes above the nose. Repeat for the remaining two bunnies. Allow the glue to dry.
5. Thread onto the rattail in order: pink pony bead, spool, pink pony bead, spool, pink pony bead, spool, pink pony bead, bunny, pink pony bead, bunny, pink pony bead, bunny, pink pony bead, spool, pink pony bead, spool, pink pony bead, spool, pink pony bead.
6. Thread the two white pony beads on one end of the rattail. Thread the other end of the rattail through the white pony beads from the opposite side. Knot each end of the rattail. Pull the white beads to adjust the length of the necklace.
If you find it difficult to thread the rattail through the bunnies or beads, you may need to wrap the end with scotch tape. Roll the tape to a point to form a needle shape and thread the rattail through.
