Craft a Necklace Inspired by 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader'

I Chose Five Charms to Place on the Necklace: A Lion, a Ship, a Chalice, a Dragon, and a Crown

Mary Martin
Easily craft this necklace inspired by "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" with materials available at your local craft store. Actually there are two separate necklace chains grouped together to form one necklace or the two necklaces may be worn separately. On one single neck chain I placed a lion charm. On the other, multiple strand, neck chain I placed a ship charm, a crown charm, a dragon charm and a chalice or cup charm each on separate strands.

This project can be completed in less than thirty minutes once the materials and tools are collected. The materials cost $14.00.

Time:

Less than 30 minutes.

Cost:

Approximately $14.00

Materials:

1 Charm Gallery Sterling Silver plated lion charm

1 Charm Gallery Sterling Silver plated ship charm

1 Charm Gallery Sterling Silver plated chalice charm

1 Charm Gallery Sterling Silver plated dragon charm

1 Charm Gallery Sterling Silver plated crown charm

1 silver plated jump ring

1 Blue Moon Beads 16 inch Linen Cord and Faux Suede Necklace

Tools:

Scissors

Needle Nose Pliers

Instructions:

Collect all materials and tools. Remove the materials from the packaging. Attach the lion charm to the faux suede single necklace strand with a jump ring using the pliers. Pull the jump ring apart slightly, slip the jump ring onto the necklace strand and place the ring attached to the charm onto the jump ring. Close the jump ring to attach the charm to the necklace strand. Squeeze the jump ring closed securely with the pliers being careful not to distort the jump ring.

Attach the other charms to four strands of the linen cord necklace using the jump rings attached to the charms. Assure that the jump rings are secure.

I chose the lion charm to represent Asian, the ship to represent the journey; the crown to represent royalty, the chalice to represent the spell, and the dragon to represent transformation. You may choose the same or different charms or symbolism from the story. This necklace craft inspired by "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" is a one of a kind. Each handcrafted necklace may be made to embellish both the person wearing the necklace and the story.
