Craft Project: How to Make a Mini Wreath from Plastic Shower Hooks
Easy Close Snap Together Shower Hooks Make Lovely Wreath Shapes
You can customize your mini wreaths however you like. Here are examples of how to make a couple of mini wreaths from shower curtain hooks and how you can use your imagination to create your own ideas.
First, visualize the ring shape as the mini wreath shape. You will be attaching a string or ribbon so the mini wreath can dangle. You are going to put something eye catching in the center of the ring that also dangles. That is the basic concept. This is a great way to recycle old costume jewelry and other potential craft items you have lying around the house. Did you lose an earring? You can use that odd or broken but pretty earring as the center of the wreath. Transforming the pretty and useless things you have suddenly becomes useful and exciting in the process of creating a memorable hand made mini wreath craft.
How To Make A Mini Sewing Wreath
1. Use a clear or green shower hook. If you don't have clear or green, you can take green twist ribbon or green silky ribbon and wrap it around the curtain hook and glue the ends to the ring. It is okay to not completely cover the mini wreath and let the original plastic peek through. You are wrapping it like candy cane stripes and are just adding a splash of green color.
2. Take a pretty vintage button and tie it to some metallic or shiny embroidery thread and attach it to the top of the ring where it clasps. You want the button to hang in the center of the ring.
3. use a Gold or red ribbon to create a bow and either glue or tie it to the shower curtain hook.
4. Use metallic elastic cord or clear fishing line to attach to the top of the wreath. This will be how your mini wreath hangs from a tree branch or door knob or wherever you choose to hang it or tie it on.
How To Make A Mini Snowman Wreath
1. Spread out a sheet of wax paper. You can make several mini snowmen wreaths at a time. Squirt dabs of glue onto the shower hooks and sprinkle with glitter. You can use red, green or gold glitter, or a mixture of colors.
2. Lay the sparkly glued rings on a sheet of wax paper to dry and set aside.
3. Using white pom poms, attach 2 or 3 together with glue to create the snowman body.
4. Glue on small craft google eyes and a tiny orange triangle of felt for a nose and a small square of black felt for a hat.
5. Poke a piece of craft wire through the back of the head and when the glittery shower hooks are dry, attach the snowman to hang from the center.
6. Use a piece of thin ribbon to embellish the top of the shower hook.
7. Use metallic elastic cord or clear fishing line to attach to the top of the wreath. This will be how your mini wreath hangs from a tree branch or door knob or wherever you choose to hang it or tie it on.
