Materials Needed for Toy Key Birth Announcements
The toy key birth announcements require several different colors of thick, stiff paper. You can use lightweight cardstock or textured specialty paper. This type of paper can usually be found in the scrap-booking and embellishing sections of your local craft store. Choose pieces of pale yellow, green, baby blue, and pink. You also need white for the keyring. Scissors, paper to make the patterns, and glue are also needed. Choose a pretty envelope that the whole thing will fit inside.
Making the Toy Key Birth Announcement Card
Begin by creating the white keyrings for the cards. This is simply a white paper circle about three inches in diameter and a half inch thick. One part should be split open so the keys can be slipped on. You can use a compass or any circular object as a guide to trace and cut out the keyring loop.
Each key on the keyring birth announcement card is a different color. Find a pattern for basic chunky key shapes, or look at a baby keyring toy for shape ideas. You might be able to find these types of shapes online. Cut out one key shape in each of the four pastel colors. Make a half inch hole in the top of each to fit over the keyring.
Before putting the toy key birth announcement card together, write the information on each key. The first key could have the new baby's name. The second could have the date and time of birth. The third might list the baby's height and weight. The last could give hair color, a time of a party, or just the word "Baby!"
After you have written everything you want to, slip the keys onto the white paper keyring. Use a small slip of paper and a dab of glue to attach the keyring in a solid circle.
This toy key baby birth announcement is really cute and imaginative. With basic patterns and specialty paper, it is easy to create a designer card for every one of your family and friends.
