Crafting of Chimes - How it Can Be Done

Amy Wells
Chime can be made from that old broken pot that is lying somewhere in you backward. All you need is a bit of creativity!

Pots have been found out to be one of the best for making chimes. In case you may be interested in making these chimes, one would need about 10 pots made of ceramic. The recommended diameter is between 1¼ and 1¾ inches. Other things that are needed are varnish finish, six plates of inches and wood. 5/8 inch grommet screws will also be needed, 10 rounds of wooden beads and 3/8 inches of spool will also be needed. 20 yardsticks of wire are also important.

Making the chimes:

A coat of varnish is added to the wooden plates and then they are allowed to dry as the varnish is added slowly. Using the 5/8 grommet screw, have it screwed into the plates by hand. If addition screws are needed, they should be separated by an inch. The line measuring should be cut lengthwise. At each end, the line through should be fed into the grommet screws. Work through the line till one reaches the lower area of the vessel.

After this, another line can be run lengthwise. This line should pass through the wooden beads and then is should be fastened to make a dual bond. Adhesives can be used in the fastening if there is need for it.

The other available vessels can use to create the chimes. Have them threaded and make sure that the measurements are regulated lengthwise. The 7/8 grommet screws can be added so that the chimes can be hang. The screws should be fixed in the middle of the crown plate. The wire is then used to hang the chimes.

The chimes are now complete. In addition to this information, I am providing you with a way one can craft snakes that can be placed at the lower areas of the door so as to keep wind out during the cold.

One should get a yard of fabric. Also to go with this is thread that matches the fabric. Other things that are needed include, dry beans, rice and stuffing. Adhesives may also be needed.

Get the fabric and trim it up to 10 inches wide and about 6 inches lengthwise. Make sure you know the measurements of the door before cutting the fabric so that it is not too long or too short. Using the 2 parts of the outer region of the fabric, hand or machine at least 3 of the sides, around 3/8 inches away from the fabric edge. Leave a short region of fabric available. Turn the edges up on the right side of the fabric and then design a snake using additives. There are various ways of designing a snake; it all up to your creativity. You can use a felt pen, buttons, studs etc.

You then have your fabric with the snake crafting.
