Craft-Lite Cutter Review

When they first started showing the Craft-Lite Cutter commercials, on T.V., being someone who loves to do crafts, I wanted one. My budget never really accommodated buying one at first, but it did work out because I later received one as a Christmas gift.

The Craft-Lite Cutter has 6 interchangeable blades, each different, including, straight, wavy, zig-zag, fold, perforated and stamp. I find the blades very easy to change and pretty safe because the blades are kind of tucked in a bit and don't stick out.

I have read some complain about the blades not cutting well enough. In my experience you do have to press down very firmly to make sure it to cuts, especially with heavier paper. I find this most with the shaped cutters like wavy and zig zag. The straight cutter has always cut fairly easily for me. What I do with the shaped ones to ensure a good even cut is to go over it once , like normal, pressing firmly, then I go right back over it the other way. I usually get a perfect cut as long as I do it that way and make sure I press firmly.

The Craft-Lite Cutter also has a ruler, one printed on the cutter and the other that folds out. One thing that sets this cutter apart from the average cutter is an under light built into and below the cutter line. I will have to say that I don't use it as often because I don't normally have a set line to cut right down. Though, the times I have I found it really nice feature. And, thankfully the batteries don't dies easily from non-use. You can also use an AC adapter, though it is not included.

I like the shape cutters most of all because they add a unique, fun, look to my paper crafts. I use the Craft-Lite Cutter most when I make greeting cards. I have also started to use it to make earring cards and I make the heavy card stock paper wavy all around. It adds a nice touch.

I really like the Craft-Lite Cutter. I think any crafty person would really enjoy having one. Thankfully you can get them at normal discount stores now and not just by TV anymore. If you're a crafter I recommend picking one up to add to your useful crafting supplies.
