Crafts for Children to Make for Father's Day.

STACY
Every child wants to make their dad something special on Father's day. Here are some craft ideas for Father's day. These crafts can be done with any age group including preschool children.

A cute craft to do if you have plenty of pictures of the children is a calendar. You can go to a print shop to have these made or just use your own computer. Print one picture of the child for each month of the year, and then attach a calendar for that month to the bottom of the picture. Something fun to try might be to take a picture of the child each month throughout the year and use it during the appropriate month during the calendar so that the parent can see how much they have changed over a year.

Another picture craft that you can do for Father's day is a collage. Have the children bring in pictures of them and their dad. Let them glue the pictures on a piece of cardstock and then laminate it. These can also be framed. Dad will enjoy reminiscing over old pictures of them and their children.

If you don't have many pictures of the children but would like to do a craft that involves pictures, this is a good one. Cut the word 'DAD' out of foam. Make sure the letters are connected to one another. Then place a picture of the child inside each letter. You can attach a magnetic strip to the back to make this a magnet or you can just leave it as it is. It is very cute either way.

If you have children that are old enough to tell you a story, then a cute Father's day craft is a book. You can ask children to tell you what their daddy does for a living. You might be surprised at what some kids think that their parents do while they are at school. This one is sure to bring lots of laughs.

Another cute craft idea is decorating a mug for your dad. You can decorate it my writing number one dad on it, or painting handprints or anything you would like. Once the mug has been painted and has dried you can fill the mug with dad's favorite kind of candy. If dad isn't big on candy you can always fill the mug with mixed nuts or even beef jerky.

If your dad likes to grill or even likes to cook then he might like an apron. You can buy plain aprons at a craft store and let the kids decorate it. One cute idea I have seen is an apron with the words "My kids walk all over me" written on it and then let the kids dip their feet in paint and then press their feet on the apron .to leave foot prints on it.

A really cute craft for younger children to make for father's day is a homemade fishing pole. To make this craft you need a long stick from tree. First tie a piece of string to the end of the stick, then on the other end of the stick tie a picture of a fish. You can cut a fish shape out of paper and let the kids color it or decorate it with different objects. Then add the child's picture to the middle of the fish.
