Good News Suitcase
Decorate the outside of a manila folder to resemble a suitcase. Cut a handle out of construction paper and glue it to the top of the folder. Write "Acts 16:10" on the outside of the good news suitcase. Acts 16:10 also tells us to go out and share the good news with others. Write salvation verses on colored note cards and slip them inside the good news suitcase. John 3:16, 1 Timothy 1:15, Romans 5:8 and John 10:9 are all excellent verses to use. Carry the suitcase with you and pull out the verses to share with others as needed.
Witnessing Bracelet
Cut a 13 inch piece of yarn, ribbon, or rawhide strapping. Tie a knot at the 4 inch mark and slide on a black bead. Follow that by a red, white, blue, green and then yellow bead. Tie a final knot after the yellow bead. Give the bead away while telling the following story: the first knot represents God giving you life. The black bead shows us the sin that is separating us from God, while the red bead represents Christ's blood on the cross. This blood takes away our sin, and we are washed as white as the white bead when we ask Jesus to be our Lord and Savior. We tell others about our salvation at our baptism, which is represented by the blue bead. The green bead represents out growth as we study God's word, and the yellow bead reminds us that we will see God's glory when we enter heaven. The final knot represents judgment day which will take place when our earthly life has ended.
Jesus Loves You Doorknob Hanger
Children can share the messages of Jesus love with others by making them doorknob hangers. Cut a piece of card stock to be 2 feet long and 6 inches wide. Cut a hole out of the top big enough to fit over a doorknob. Color the words "Jesus Loves Me" on a piece of colored construction paper. Cut it out and staple, or glue it just under the hole for the doorknob. Next, cut four hearts out of construction paper and write one letter on each heart so that you spell out "LOVE." Staple or glue the hearts single file from top to bottom on the doorknob hanger. Share the verse John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends" with the person you give the doorknob hanger to.
Playdough Well
Once children read the story of the woman at the well found in John 4:1 through 42, they can create their own well out of playdough to remember the story. Mold the playdough around a styrofoam cup so that it resembles a well. Then remove the cup. Etch the verse Acts 4:20 "We cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard" on the outside of the well with a toothpick. Children can show the well to others, pour water in it, and tell them that Jesus offers us living water.
