Craftsman Tools and Sets

Sears introduced the Craftsman line of tools in 1927, and ever since then Craftsman has continued to be a top manufacturer and seller of hand tools. They now make just about every hand tool one can think of, and probably a few you cannot. They offer everything from roll-away tool chests to power saws to hammers, and all things in between. No matter what tool brands come and go, we can be sure that Craftsman is here to stay.

The goal of the Craftsman tool company is to make high quality tools that will last a long time, instead of breaking the first time they are put to the test. Over the years, Craftsman has built up a wonderful reputation as far as quality goes, and they continue to put out top of the line products that do not disappoint.

Craftsman tool and socket sets come in a wide variety of types and sizes. Some are available with thousands of pieces and are aimed at auto mechanics and other trade usage, and some come with a couple hundred for the backyard fix-it types. They literally offer every type of tool made, and the combinations of tools one can purchase in different sets is almost endless.

All Craftsman products will of course have the Craftsman logo printed or embossed on the actual tool. However, sometimes one can tell a Craftsman tool from a cheaper tool just by looking at it. Normally, Craftsman sockets and wrenches are shiny and cast without visible imperfections, whereas the competitors many times have an opaque look to them, and contain casting burrs and lumps.

One thing to consider when contemplating buying a Craftsman tool set is how you plan on using it. If you are into automotive sports, for instance, and might find yourself working on cars a lot, then a large Craftsman set is probably the way to go. Another thing to consider is budget - generally, Craftsman tools carry a higher price tag than other brands because of their quality, and if you need reliable tools and easy customer service, then Craftsman should be considered.

Of course, a major benefit to owning a Craftsman hand tool is their quality. They hold up where many sockets and wrenches will snap in half, or worse. Another benefit is their warranty program: all Craftsman hand tools come with a no strings attached, lifetime warranty. Any vendor of Craftsman products will take back the broken item with no questions, and no receipt, for exchange of a brand new tool. A third benefit is location. Craftsman vendors can be found everywhere, and so unlike Snap-On, you do not have to wait for the truck to come by so you can place orders or replace tools.
