Crafty Crayola Christmas Kits for Kids

Ainsley Patterson
There are a lot of craft kits out there for kids. They can make practically anything with these kits, and they are great alternative to hours of television viewing. My parents used to buy me craft items every Christmas, and I would spend hours up in my room creating everything from jewelry to foam molds that I could paint. There was a sense of joy and pride when I used these kits to create something on my own. Why not give your child that same joy and pride for Christmas. Crayola, one of the most well respect makers of children's craft supplies has a wide variety of craft kits, and after recently browsing through them on ToysRUs.com I was compelled to share my findings with my readers because, quite simply, I was amazed by the variety of kits they offer. So here is a list of some of the Crayola kits that I would love to own, even as an adult, if I didn't think my coworkers would think me crazy.

Crayola Start Your Imagination Racer
This is a great alternative to model cars for younger children. They get to create their own paint design, and the kit includes some pretty cool decals. It is recommended for ages 4-7, but quite frankly, if I had something to do with it after I was done making it, I would love to create me own race car. Which brings me to another great part of this kit, after they create it, they can play with it. It's like buying two gifts in one, first you buy them a craft, then you've bought them a toy car.

Crayola Goodie Machine
This is a little bit better than just buying them that gumball machine that every kid craves at some point during their childhood. They get to decorate their very own gumball machine. If you're worried about them rotting out their teeth when they are done with the craft then why not fill it with sugarfree gum, or even use it to store Vitaballs, those gumball daily vitamins for kids, of course if you do fill it with vitamins make sure you put it some place where they aren't going to ingest too many vitamins. This craft is also recommended for those aged 4-7.

Crayola Tick-Tock Crocodile
This great craft is recommended for ages 3-7 and offers a fun way for kids to own part of their education. First let them assemble this adorable clock and decorate their crocodile to their liking, then use the assembled clock to teach them how to read time. Not only can they help play a role in their own education they can also play a role in decorating their room. This project jumped out at me because of how adorable it is, hard to resist.

Crayola Story Creator
This is an awesome kit that allows your child to create their own story, illustrate it, record it, and add wacky sounds. A great gift to get the imagination flowing and allow your child to start their own library of stories. This kit is recommended for ages 5 and up.

Crayola also offers several art supply kits, model magic fusion kits, and younger art supplies designed to protect your home from "arts and crafts gone wild". You can find the many wonderful products that they offer at Toys R Us as well as at Crayola.com.
