The first single off of Trust Me is the catchy Hot Stuff (Let's Dance). The song clearly samples the David Bowie classic of the same name which was also sampled by Diddy on Been Around The World in the mid-90's. The song is catchy and Craig shines which his trademark smooth vocals. The song is a good way to reintroduce Craig David to the marketplace.
She's On Fire features a more rhythmic beat with clear reggae inspirations. The song is a solid song but not a standout track. The beat goes nicely with Craig David's almost rap like singing. The chorus features a scratched up vocal saying the name of the song. The song is a good song but not a great one.
Awkward is a very different sounding song. The song is the deepest song on the album. The song is another good and catchy song. The song has a different feel to what you would expect from Craig. The song is a very solid R&B song with touches of old soul songs.
6 Of 1 Thing is the perfect feel good song. The beat is extremely catchy and the song is very high energy for Craig. The song just makes you want to dance. The song features one Craig's trademark raps over the bouncy beat. The song also shows vocal growth by Craig.
Don't Play With Our Love is a classic Craig David song modernized. The song features Craig's smooth vocals over a relaxed beat. The song is very catchy and the beat is just all over the place which is a good thing in this place. Where as most songs are a four bar loop this beat goes all over the place. The song was clearly inspired by a heavy Latin feel as emphasized later in the song.
Officially Yours is a happy acoustic guitar driven track. The song is fairly catchy and is definitely easy on the ears. The song sounds like traditional Craig David as he does not vary far from his trademark formula.
Just A Reminder finds Craig singing over a nice mid-tempo track. The track bares some similarity to Robin Thicke's Lost Without You. The bridge features Craig singing in full falsetto for one of the few times on the album. The song is a very catchy pop song.
Kinda Girl For Me features a sample of the classic song Stylistics track You Are Everything. The song is solid but not one of the best songs on the album which is understandable because the album is so strong.
Friday Night is the typical up-tempo track that you would expect from Craig David. The song is definitely one of the better tracks of the album.
The album also features This Is The Girl the hit single by UK artist Kano featuring Craig David. The song is a solid mid to up-tempo track that features Kano rapping and Craig singing on the chorus. The song was very big in the UK and could be fairly successful in the US.
Trust Me is a very good album by Craig David which should give him the mainstream attention he rightfully deserves. Overall Trust Me gets 8.5 out of 10 for a very good R&B album. If you're a fan of Craig David make sure you go out and get his new album Trust Me on November 12th.

Post a CommentI love him too. I've been a huge fan since his first album and I don't really think he's been anywhere close to as good as he was in the first one..but that's just me! I didn't really care much for any of the songs on this one- except maybe 'Officially Yours'. Nice job on the review!
I LOVE him! He's DAMN awesome!!! VIVA CRAIG VIVA! :D
