Craig EPad $99 from CVS Arrives in Knoxville

Social Media, Ebooks, and Web Surfing

Barbie Crafts
After spending a few days with a Craig EPad from CVS, it is clear that it is a great tool for social media, Ebooks, or just surfing the web. For only $99, you can have a lot of the features of a much more expensive tablet computer.

I purchased one this week, the day after they came out. Here is an article about my first impressions.

Knoxville has them
CVS in Bristol had some of the Craig EPads, and the CVS on Western Avenue in Knoxville also has some of the tablets. They had three left at the time of publication, and she said the regular price would be $99 for a while. This is very inexpensive in comparison to the i-Pad, which is very sought after at this point, but still not very affordable. The Craig Epad is a very strong device for $99, so much more so than the little Sylvania Netbooks released by CVS in September 2010.

When the netbooks were introduced, there was a supply problem at the factory level. All the stores did not receive them, and the ones that did quickly sold out. Many, however, were returned due to problems with wireless connectivity, which one employee told me that they thought was more an issue of consumer error.

Wi-Fi that works
The Craig EPad has a seamless Wi-Fi process, and once connected, you will be surprised that you can access most sites with little problem at all. You are not limited to only mobile sites, and this is one of the most impressive things about the tablet. Using web forms is not an issue as it was on the little Sylvania Netbook, and it is so very much faster processing.

Android
This little tablet computer has an Android operating system, and if you are familiar with an Android cell phone, you will feel right at home. The touchscreen is not one of the most recent ones, so it may be a little less responsive than your phone. There is a stylus wand attached to the EPad that you can use, if that suits your needs better.

Facebook and Twitter
This EPad makes your social media easy to access with an app for Facebook and Twitter. These are not a typical mobile application, and they are colorful and easy to operate. With the touch of an icon, you are on Twitter or Facebook, passwords already filled in. (After the initial setup, you no longer need to input your information.)

Email
This little Craig EPad has an Email App that is easily set up to access your email. After the original setup, there are no logins to fool with. Just one click is all it takes to check your email. With the Sylvania Netbook, it cannot be set up to download your email.

Ebooks
Who needs an Ereader when you have an EPad? There is an application that allows you to download books, many are free, and use the device like an Ereader. Although CVS has an Ereader available, it is more expensive than the $99 Craig EPad. You can also download audio books onto the device.

Storage
This tablet does not work under the same storage premise that other devices do. For photo storage and such, you will need to use a SD card, which is very inexpensive. You can also utilize a jump drive while using this tablet for photos, documents, etc...

Photos and videos
There is an application to show photos in a slide show format, of course you will need a sd card or usb jump drive to utilize this. Videos operate the same way.

If you like watching Youtube Videos, this tablet has a beatiful picture. The color and size add to your enjoyment, especially if you are accustomed to watching them on a phone.

Don't waste time
If you want one of these Craig EPad deals at CVS, be sure you don't wait. They will be gone soon. You can use your Extra Bucks for these, which will make it even cheaper. Why not buy all the offers that have Extra Bucks available and then use these toward the purchase price?
