Cranberry Rum Punch Recipe

Easy Football, Party or Holiday Punch Recipe

Cathy A Montville
I happen to be a huge and obnoxious football fan. While I love extra spicy chili accompanied by an ice-cold beer at half time - I also realize not everyone is a beer connoisseur. On game day, treat your football party guests to this super easy to make cranberry rum punch. This punch recipe is a refreshing change. You can use it for any party or holiday gathering as well.

This recipe is versatile because you can use cranberry juice with any flavor added. Some juice contains a combination of cranberry/pomegranate, cranberry/blueberry, cranberry/grape or cranberry/raspberry to name a few.

As for the rum, whatever brand strikes your fancy. You do not have to use pricey rum in this punch, but it should be dark rum. If you are not familiar with different rum, there are plenty of websites online. Check out "An Introduction to Rum."

Ingredients - Serves 4

*2 cups cranberry juice (flavor combination of preference)

*1/2 to 2/3 cup dark rum

*Ice cubes

*Lime peels (for garnish)

Directions

1. In a festive serving pitcher, mix cranberry juice and rum. Serve in punch cups over ice cubes.

2. Garnish the cups with a lime peel.

Note: For added flavor and fun, freeze cranberry juice in ice cube trays. Use in punch cups. Enjoy!
