I have to admit, when I saw the commercial for Cranium's Super Fort on TV about 2 months before Christmas, I was immediately in love. Thank goodness my kids were too. When they started asking for it, they offered this tempting benefit the game could bring to our home: "We won't have to use the couch cushions anymore!" my 8 year old suggested, referring to the habit my kids have of making forts out of every cushion and pillow in the house.
I didn't have the heart to tell them that I was thinking the exact same thing!
Cranium Super Fort is another great product from Cranium. It consists of 16 flexible foam tubes, 6 rigid foam tubes, 16 magnetic connectors, 6 base pieces, 20 clips, 7 nylon panels, and 2 storage bags. Using the building pieces, kids can create light weight, soft framed, yet sturdy forts and then put up the nylon panels using the clips to create walls, roofs, or floors.
Each connector has six holes that hold onto the foam tubes magnetically. The tubes are easy to snap into place and easy to take apart, yet strong enough to keep the fort sturdy. My 8 year old easily built a fort with out much instruction. The fort can even be lifted up, if not too elaborate, and moved to another room if it begins to get in the way.
Ideas are given on the outside of the box for even more creative fort-building ideas: a spaceship, a boat, a car or a long tunnel. This is a toy that is only limited by your child's imagination, and I suppose the number of building supplies it comes with.
As usual, Cranium has thought of everything with this toy by including storage bags. There is a large nylon bag that holds all the big parts, and a smaller bag that holds the connectors, clips and base parts. This small bag fits inside the large bag for nice, consolidated storage.
The only possible drawback that Cranium Super Fort might have is that kids will quickly start thinking BIG and desire more pieces than comes with the package. One of the first things my husband noted about this product was that we should have bought two!

Cranium toys are the best!
This sounds like it would make a great Christmas or birthday gift! Great review!
I kinda like the charm of the sofa cushions, dining chairs and sheets! Ya know, it's just so resourceful, unlike getting a package of supplies to make a fort.
