Soulja Boy was the youngest person to write, produce, and perform a number one single. This song stayed as the top single on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks. He was seventeen at the time this song reached number one status. This was nominated as the twenty-first best song of 2007, according to Rolling Stone. This song was nominated for a Grammy award at the 50th Grammy Awards for Best Rap Song.

This song debuted at number forty-seven on the charts on July 28, 2007. This song reached twenty-eighth after one week. On September 15, 2007, it was able to reach the top spot. It stayed on top of the charts for two weeks before being replaced by Kanye West's song Stronger. It returned to the top of the charts on October 6, 2007 and remained there for five more weeks. This song has become one of the best selling digital downloads of all time, as there have been over five million purchases of this song. This song has been used in a trailer for Fast & Furious and is a common song that is played at the University of Miami home football games.
