Jason Levin, who appears to be serious about this scheme, claims that the intent is to "exaggerate" what he sees as the "least appealing" aspects of the Tea Party movement. Levin regards most Tea Partiers as racists, homophobic, and moronic. The operatives who plan to infiltrate the Tea Party protests will behave accordingly.
According to the Crash the Tea Party Web site:
"Whenever possible, we will act on behalf of the Tea Party in ways that will exaggerate their least appealing qualities (i.e. misspelled protest signs, wild claims on TV interviews, etc.) to further distance them from mainstream America and damage the public's opinion of them. We will also use inside information that we have gained in order to disrupt and derail their plans."
Words almost fail. For one thing, one of the first rules of this kind of secret black operation is that it remains secret. If one boasts to the world that one is going to try to make some group one hates look bad by infiltrating it, and then misbehaving while passing oneself off as a member of that group, then it kind of defeats the purpose.
Let us suppose that during one of the Tea Party protests that someone is seen carrying a sign called Barack Obama the N word. That person can now be assumed to be one of Jason Levin's crack secret operatives. If someone is heard yelling on camera that President Obama is a secret Muslim plotting to spread jihad across the American heartland, then again that person will be pegged as one of Jason Levin's.
And one wonders about this "inside information" that Jason Levin is talking about. Tea Party organizations are usually quite open about what they do. When they plan to hold an anti tax protest at the public park, they advertise it in the hopes that as many people show up as possible. Secrecy is not really a common aspect of a political movement.
Of course Jason Levin might be buying into the calumny that the Tea Parties are really just militia organizations getting ready to blow up the local Federal Building or maybe assassinate IRS agents. But there is a name for people who believe that sort of thing. Crazed, paranoid, conspiracy nuts. And, in Jason Levin's case, not a very smart one either.

Post a CommentI don't condone violence but if the tea partiers identify any of those anarchists and Marxists trying to sabotage the Tea Party then those said lowlifes will likely find out that actions carry consequences.
And it can all be blamed on "Crash the Tea Party", easily so.
Thank you for your submission. Your article has been featured on AC's politics category.
this is great news!!! now anybody can say anything, hold any sign and simply blame it on these fools! excellent.
Crash The Tea Party is NOT a liberal organization but set up to look like one.......the right wing are so desperate, there is no limit as to what they will try and do....
The solution is simple: Tea Party members who are carrying racist, sexist, homophobic, birther etc. signs, merely have to claim they are CTTP imposters "playing" tea-baggers, and they'll get away with any despicable behavior they like!
My such a horrible rebuttal Michael. We will have our camera and cell phones ready to get these imposters on tape to oust them publicly. It should be fun!!!
tea bagers are idiots
If what you say about the people at the tea parties are true why do you need to infiltrate the gatherings? Where is the video and audio of this terrible behavior??
Oh, Mark, I was just about to publish an article on the same topic. I'm scraping it now, because yours is better. Needless to say, thanks for this timely piece. :-)
Well, considering that MSM won't likely heavily mention these tea party crashers' intent, then people won't know it isn't really tea partiers acting like that.
