Cravendale teamed with a British designer named Oliver Newberry. Together they researched ways to create an appealing jug that could alert us to the quality of the milk that we are drinking. The end result was a milk jug that is loaded with awesome technology. Luckily I was able to receive one of these milk jugs and can share with you what makes this milk jug cool, you know, besides that it can save you from drinking spoiled milk.
Built in is a very unique PH sensor located at the base of the jug. This sensor is important because it measures the pH acidity of whatever is in the jug. Since the jug is mainly meant for milk, it will be able to accurately tell you if the milk to good or bad. The results will be displayed across a built in LCD screen located on the side of the milk jug. Obviously if it reads "Fresh" it means it is good and if reads "Sour" you should throw it away.
Just in case you are not paying enough attention to the writing located on the jug the designers thought of another cool option. You can also be alerted by alarm whenever sour milk is detected. The alarm will sound and can be turned off by the press of the button. This is a great added bonus because a lot of times we are in a hurry and might not read the outside of the jug. The alarm would warn you and protect you from the horrible taste I mentioned above.
Studies have shown that thousands of consumers throw away milk each year that is actually good. This is because they believe it should be spoiled after a certain period of time. It is Cravendale's hope that this milk jug will lead to consumers being more conscious of what they are doing. They will learn that the milk is not always bad and will in the end save themselves some money in the long run.
The Cravendale milk jug is sadly only available for sale in the UK right now. This is because the company is UK based and simply is aiming towards serving their customers for now. However, a simple Google search will find you a lot of these jugs for purchase and shipment to the United States. So if you are tired of spoiled milk you should look into obtaining one of Cravendale's stylish milk jugs.
