Crawling Out of Blue

April Fox
i was in a blue haze for too long
and when that broke the sun was blinding
false
the light a joke that might have played
for an innocent audience
but fell flat
when presented to me.

crawled up out of blue sky blue water blue laws
blue moons and blue paint
splashed across the floor
crawled up out of blue to find
the other colors.

covered up, blacked out shaded
watching without
being watched

candy kool-aid
hot pink
i am magic nobody
you can't see me
i'm not here.

crawled up out of the blue to find
the world was waiting.

and the rain is over now
and the road runs a different direction
and all the years that i've lost won't let me go back.
